Man, reviewing NIH grants is worse than reviewing dissertations. The dissertations are long and sometimes poorly written, but NIH grants are short and written by scientists who do this for a living and are fighting for their ideas. It takes at least an hour or two to thoroughly review one of those 12 page beasties, which tells you something about the level of depth we have to get into and with what paucity of words. 😁
8-10 of them at a go, and my weekend is shot. 😫
