I remember going to the big BP service station off the Bruce Highway at Burpengary one trip on the way to Imbil… shortly after a COVID-19 lock-down had been lifted.
They've got a food court with a few outlets:
- Krispy Kremes Donuts (never tried them to be honest)
- McDonalds
- KFC
- Coolabah Cafe
- Boost Juice
We normally go the Coolabah Cafe since they've got quite a variety there. On this occasion, all but KFC and McDonalds were closed.
We ended up buying some KFC "chicken" and "coleslaw" … bloody greasy and awful. There was no flavour in the chicken, it was all in the coating they're battered in.
How anyone could exist on eating this is beyond me. (Well aware that a certain elderly recently-elected head-of-state does exactly this. I will not follow his example!)
