So as an experiment I did a quick mockup of what Windows 11's Fluent Design language would look like with a more skeuomorphic look. I did it in Photoshop real quick and dirty so forgive me if some things are a bit misaligned.
I think this experiment goes to show that you can retain the "modern UI" look even if you made it skeuomorphic.
