That’s not an option. I’m not against Hinckley as it is needed to replace plants that are long past their design life. A second one (eg in Suffolk) would take too long to build. But mainly the problem is that you can’t ramp nuclear up and down swiftly. And what we need is power that can be despatched (in the absence of enough wind/solar) to meet demand in the 4-7pm slot (and, less dramatically, in the 6-9am period).
