If I reply to someone, or a group of people, and that reply gets longer than the instance’s default character limit per post, the first of the thread gets sent as a reply, but subsequent pieces of that reply thread are being sent without being replies. So that second and subsequent parts get published as regular non-reply posts instead. That is not desirable, I think. If replying and going over the limit, when separating the post into multiple posts, the subsequent ones should be replies to myself and whoever I replied to in the first part.
