relaying.io is a glorified version of big relays but instead of everything being in a single relay clients can only have one connection to, they need to have a connection per user (and duplicate events!) and have lots of ram and cpu overhead for the hoster, which leads to it being expensive for users
all for the illusion of decentralization when deploying a paid relay is easier than making a whole fucking hosting service
