I finally understand what people mean when they say that going for a walk can be emotionally regulating.
6 weeks ago, I didn't understand it. I was so sedentary, going for a walk sounded like a big deal, like it would just make me more tired.
In my 6th week of being more active, I started going for a walk instead of a nap after work, and I feel like it has had the same effect.
Having that time to reflect and think while I'm walking allows me to regulate my emotions. I feel more grounded, less stressed, and better able to manage my time and focus.
Huh. Who'd have thought?
