Whenever I'm feeling stressed or overwhelmed (which, unfortunately, happens a lot these days) I listen to Agatha Christie audiobooks. I find the easy gentility and the neat resolutions very comforting.
Cos the books were written in a different age I expect different values. I thought I'd find racism or classism, but I don't see much of it. But the books are packed full of sexism. The women are mostly simple, naive, not concerned with serious things.
