I think here in the UK, the temperatures drops about 10C. When is debatable.
I too remember learning about global warming in the 90s, and the whole idea we would build a tidal barrier in the Bristol Channel to create cleaner energy and that never happened. Considering the UK is an island and the tide is reliable, you’d think the gov would focus on that renewable resource.
M Schumacher’s Small is Beautiful is a good book (written in the ‘70s) about future economics post fossil fuels.
