I bought a house on a small hill, because I was aware of flooding of houses that are below street level.

It is kind of odd, in my neighbourhood, they slowly built houses on all the good spots, then subdivided off the low spots, and built houses there too.

A couple blocks away, there was a swampy acre or two, and over the last few years, they drained it and built several new houses in the hole.

Those houses will flood in a storm, in the next 5 or 10 years. it's obvious.
