We went to go create instructions on how to make your own nostr identity from scratch using a browser extension….. This is way to many steps.

"Step-by-Step Guide: Installing Nostr Connect and Setting Up Your Account
This guide will help you install the Nostr Connect browser extension, create a new key, add relays, and log in to social.protest.net and calendar.protest.net.

Step 1: Install the Nostr Connect Browser Extension
1. Open your browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Brave).
2. Go to the Nostr Connect extension page:
* Chrome Web Store
* Firefox Add-ons
3. Search for “Nostr Connect” in the store’s search bar.
4. Click on the Nostr Connect extension from the search results.
5. Click “Add to Chrome/Firefox/Brave”.
6. Confirm by clicking “Add Extension” when prompted.
7. You will see a small Nostr Connect icon in your browser's toolbar once the installation is complete.

Step 2: Create a New Key
1. Click on the Nostr Connect icon in your browser's toolbar.
2. You will see an option to “Create a New Key”—click on it.
3. Save your key securely:
* You will see a public key and a private key.
* Write down your private key and keep it in a safe place. This is like a password; if you lose it, you won't be able to access your account.
* The public key is like your username, which you can share with others.
4. Click “Done” after saving your keys.

Step 3: Add Relays to Your Account
1. Open the Nostr Connect extension again by clicking the icon in the toolbar.
2. Navigate to the Settings or Relays section.
3. You’ll see a list of default relays. To add new ones, click on “Add Relay”.
4. Enter the following relay addresses:
* wss://relay.protest.net
* wss://relay.nos.social
5. After entering each relay, click “Add” or “Save”.
6. Ensure the relays are enabled by checking the toggle or checkbox next to each relay.

Step 4: Save Your Setup
1. Once you've added the relays, make sure you click “Save” or “Apply Changes”.
2. Your relays should now be connected, and your key should be set up for use.

Step 5: Log In to Social.Protest.net and Calendar.Protest.net
1. Go to social.protest.net or calendar.protest.net in your browser.
2. Look for a “Log In with Nostr” or “Connect with Nostr” button on the website.
3. Click the login button—your Nostr Connect extension will prompt you to confirm the login.
4. Approve the login in the Nostr Connect pop-up by clicking “Confirm”.
5. You are now logged in and ready to use the platforms!”
