Well, there are valid concerns over data scraping by Threads, which shouldn't be surprising considering Meta's history of invasive data practices.
I moved to Mastodon to escape incessant data harvesting. If Meta is allowed to come in and harvest data from Mastodon users, there will no longer be any social platforms where our data isn't tracked and sold. https://fedipact.veganism.social/
