For me it's largely ideological. If I am going to save in Bitcoin, I'm also going to use it as money. I try to opt out as much as possible from the fiat system– Currently 90% of the way there but the last 10% is the hardest! Some chains are really hard to break and if I didn't have a mortgage I'd be much easier to live outside of fiat world altogether.
