With posts I am starting to post non-markdown version first, and then edited with the markdown version next.
This way you have non-markdoen for slacker apps, because they don't honor edits either.
It also works better in Amethyst because Amethyst recognizes edits and markdown.
This isn't the case with profiles.... So my markdown prifile looks horrendous on most clients.
