But the whole point of GURPS is that, while you have options for everything, you only really need a small subset of it for your specific campaign. Who cares about magic if you are running a cyberpunk adventure? Who cares about vehicle combat if you are running a fantasy adventure?
Take what it is useful to you, and leave the rest for when you will play in a totally different setting.
(And it helps that all those rules actually make sense together, so switching genre requires only minor adjustments.)
