We know that COVID does more organ damage than smoking, especially to the heart and lungs. There are lots of studies that have been released over the last 3 years that show that, and yet, if I were to take up smoking again, it'd be perfectly acceptable for someone in my peer group to tell me how bad just one cigarette is for me. Even if they aren't a doctor or have any kind of medical background. But when I try to tell someone how bad just one COVID infection is, I'm told I'm overreacting or that I need to seek therapy. The things that we have normalized, man... everything seems to be going counter-clockwise.
