Ok, I get the benefit. They can do compression ignition AND port-injection because there's no such thing as preignition. Whenever the fuel mixture decides to ignite, that's TDC.

They're advertising low NOx because they don't have an injector, so they don't have rich spots, lean spots, and hot spots. They say there's no flame because they're relying on what would otherwise be referred to as preignition or knock, so everything in the cylinder is going bang at basically the same time, there's no flame-front or injection event.

Port injection + compression ignition is a big deal, so yes, I get it now.
