They are doing it because masks remind everyone that COVID is still here. That makes people want to hurry up with their shopping and go home, rather than lingering and spending more money. The robber barons don't like that, their commercial real estate is tanking 📉⏬ Same reason we have been seeing all these articles in the big city papers about the glories of the "water cooler" and how we should all give up WFH and commute into the office again. (I say convert all that excess CRE into housing!)
