I have done assessments in manufacturing facilities in China that were “owned” by the client.
Simple recon showed that the network was shared with assets that didn’t belong to the customer, and VERY PROPRIETARY IP was on unsecured shares, and had been copied to unknown endpoints.
I had never seen anything like it before, it was 800 pages of reporting.
Yes, you read that right.
I don’t know where Stanley manufactures these at, but if China, a lot of those details are probably shared and easy to get.
