The ruined ‘castle’ on the island of Llyn Eiddwen is in fact a folly, known as Tredwell’s Castle, said to have been built in the late 1800s by a wealthy Londoner - Mr Tredwell - as his ‘party castle’ 🙄. He partied hard, had other madcap (more money than sense) schemes, was bankrupted and died penniless apparently. Nevermind. Beautiful spot so can understand why he picked it…except that he didn’t own it!

Anyway, Llyn Eiddwen is now a lovely, peaceful nature reserve 😊.
