Senators urged: Remain steadfast in pursuit of truth, justice in Quiboloy case

The social advocacy arm of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) called on members of the Senate to stay focused on pursuing truth and justice in the case of Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Apollo Quiboloy. Caritas Philippines rejected insinuations that the pursuit of justice for alleged victims of human trafficking, sexual abuse, and other criminal activities constitutes 'oppression'. They urged senators to consider the plight of the alleged victims and to look beyond the personalities involved. Senator Risa Hontiveros moved to cite Quiboloy for contempt and requested an arrest warrant after his continued refusal to attend the Senate inquiry. Senator Robin Padilla opposed the motion and gained the support of Senators Imee Marcos, Cynthia Villar, and Bong Go.
