While I agree with the general-idea of this, the distances within the US or Canada are *not* similar to the distances within The Netherlands, or Uruguay, or Germany, etc..
Oversimplification can be dangerous.
It'd take some serious strong-arming, however, to get *sanity* into government, anywhere, if there's a political-party-highjacking-the-country 1st-past-the-post election-system..
Perhaps a graph showing 1PTP-election jurisdictions vs alternatives, & the transport-balance in those categories, might possibly be informing?
I've no idea: it's just an idea/question..
