looking at the image project and complaining together that we have to compress everything to webP instead of JPEG XL (much better)
Basically cuz no browsers support JPEG XL. Safari does. Google dropped support for it in favor of webp despite supporting both originally and since every browser is google it just ended right there. Could have had dynamic loading images and smaller file sizes, quicker compression and decompression, and all sorts of benefits
