I agree with both of your posts, i guess i just think we are 99% there, they didn't even need much incentive, just "convenience".
Grey market and bartering will still happen. I don't know that they care enough to really push for the elimination of the physical cash whit it is so tiny.
I also don't know if they need to push for a "real" CBDC, and if they do, as you say, it'll be for gov programs etc...
People will just gravitate to it.
