Santander Brasil will allow customers to pay their personal loan installments directly on their credit card statement. The so-called Supercrédito is granted through an additional credit limit and has its own fees, which are not the same as the installment payment fee, for example. The product was launched this week. The credit interest starts at 2.69% per month, and the installment period reaches 36 months. Customers who do not have a current account with the bank can request the credit through the Way app, which manages credit cards. The idea of uniting the two products into a single statement is part of the bank's strategy to increase the use of credit cards by its base. With 70.7 million customers in March, including 33.2 million active ones, Santander has been seeking to increase profitability through a closer relationship with those already with the bank. We have been designing a strategy over the past few months to strengthen the transactionality of credit cards, including new solutions. The credit card is the daily life of the customer, it is the preferred product of the Brazilian alongside Pix. Under this guidance, the bank launched in 2023 the installment payment feature, which allows customers to pay a specific purchase directly with the bank after it is made in cash at the establishment. According to Santos, the product has high adoption among high-income customers, in purchases with higher average values. Additionally, Santander also launched the installment payment of bills using the credit card limit. The next step is to allow the payment of Pix according to the same logic. We are centralizing the daily needs of use and financing of customers within the dynamics and statement of the credit card. Both Supercrédito and other products follow Santander's strategy of growing more with credit cards with customers with a better risk profile. In addition to targeting high-income customers, this means working more with those already with the bank, which provides the institution with more data and allows for better risk calculation. Santos took over the credit card area at the end of last year. Under his responsibility and that of other fronts is the development of a new global credit card platform. Fully based on cloud computing, the processor is being built in Brazil and will serve the bank worldwide. Additionally, according to him, the new superapp of the conglomerate, which will integrate customer service to all customers, including non-current account holders, will also have new features in credit cards.
