I am nearing Valencia and have to think about last year's floods.

So today I hit highest peak at around 1 000 m above sea level and ended ~200m. 800m difference in few ~50 km. Perfect space to stop a storm and force it to rain in one spot.

Second the water is then funneled through valleys to the Valencia and it doesn't have any space to collect or flood some fields.

The villages upstream aren't affected at all because most of them are on higher ground.
