Every cell in our bodies is affected by electromagnetic fields. For example calcium channels are massively more sensitive to EMFs (and radio frequencies I'd guess) than they are to our own body’s signals. Messing with these signals lead to mineral imbalances, free radical damage, altered NMDA activity, and all sorts of health problems downstream from that.

The Earth has background radiation our body can deal with, but not in the concentrated form in modern electronics.
It's not about being paranoid but about measuring and understanding. Being 1ft away from your Wi-Fi is orders of magnitude worse than being 5ft away.
Remember radiation is proportional to the square of the distance. Having that kind of radiation millimeters away from your brain does not seem like a great idea. Ultimately it also depends for how long you use them.
