While tax simplification has often been a call from the Right (and a mask for tax reductions on the rich), the UK tax system is unnecessarily complex & has been getting worse for decades.

This leads to a lot of work for tax accountants, some perverse incentives for taxpayers & a range of unintended tax loopholes & strange economic effects.

So, a simpler tax system, with fewer frequent political revisions might be a good pro-growth policy, saving unnecessary time & effort?
