As a consequence I don’t think its impossible the majority of Bitcoin could end up held this way. How did we get here? Well in our efforts to onboard new Bitcoiners to our businesses, software and social ecosystem we try and relate it to something they understand. So for the majority of people Bitcoin has been explained as an investment, digital gold, wealth preservation. Something that for most it makes sense to entrust to a custodian.
