Perhaps we can think about as two opposite goals — that can’t be reached by the same structure.

1 - you want to have other people help you filter what is relevant and use their human brains to select data. You can’t do that that without trusted parties and without giving those parties to prevent you from seeing certain things (it might be an intrinsic property of this approach, not sure)

2-you want to be able to see the world outside of your social bubble and without the possibility of other people choosing or influencing what you see or not— you want to be able to see the things the very people you “trust” be they governments, corporations, or random people you follow, don’t want you to. If you need to trust some data selection process it must either be completely under your control, or executed by other people in a way that you have the best mathematical guarantees aren’t hiding anything.

You could perfectly want both things at the same time, and have both things — but likely you can’t do that in the very same protocol.
