It is funny when English native speakers can't even fathom that someone who is only a learner of English, might not recognize an innuendo, or something with "double meaning".
I am surrounded by people who speak English well enough to use it professionally, but don't socialize and consume the culture that broadly, and maybe only with subtitles in their native language, so wouldn't pick up on subtleties.
