Ghost of Hope on Nostr: I have a confession to make: I'm in the UK and I'm still (mostly, I've slipped a bit) ...
I have a confession to make: I'm in the UK and I'm still (mostly, I've slipped a bit) masking in healthcare settings and supermarkets. Apparently the last one in my town of 100k people.
Sounds like I'm a nutter, doesn't it?
Well, I technically have blood cancer and I'm technically on low-dose chemo for life that suppresses my immune system a bit. So you might think I'm justified, people like me maybe should mask still but anybody else is a weirdo. My immune system functions relatively well though.
How times change. Just a few short years ago we all masked, not - mostly - because of fear of catching the Rona Plague but because we recognised that spreading diseases when we could do something as simple as wearing a mask when we had symptoms, or when there are a pandemic underway, was foolish and dangerous. And the vulnerable would pay the price if we didn't.
As I said, how times change.
