If they are going to be espresso primary, the Sette 270Wi is a better choice, has a built in Acaia scale, and is super fast (and loud) with a fluffy output right to the portafilter.
If they want all purpose, from espresso to press pot, the Vario W+ or the Forte AP are the better choices.
