Call me stupid, but I moved 5 physical books from a library yesterday and happily started reading 2 last night. I like print for long reads, and the publishers can't do a thing to stop me.
I know some prefer ebooks over print. US law has carveouts for access (possibly via CDL) for those who *can't* use print books. But if it's "prefer" rather than "require", there's room for negotiation. Which leads to point 2…
