Do you ever during an argument the other person yell to prove they’re right? There's nothing more unbearable, right?
One day Socrates was attacked by a man. He was a rude and uncivilized person, who even slapped him with a bad argument. Even today there are a lot of people like this.. when they don't know how to expose their ideas, they become aggressive. But how did Socrates react? He didn't do anything! He didn't yell, he didn't respond with violence, nothing. One of his disciples asked about Socrates' behavior, and the great philosopher replied, "If a donkey had kicked me, would I have taken him to court?" "What does Socrates teach us?" That an intelligent person should never stoop to the level of an idiot. Sometimes silence is the most elegant reply. It's no coincidence that the word "elegance" comes from the Latin "electro", which means light. What does that even mean? It means that an elegant person is not one who wears branded clothes or owns expensive objects, but one who knows how to behave, when to speak and when to keep quiet..
