Fact: The Waitangi Tribunal acknowledged, in their report on settling with Ngā Puhi, that there is no evidence that Ngā Puhi ceded sovereignty. Because the original Māori version, which they signed, does not say anything about ceding sovereignty;

Fact: Ngai Tūhoe, and a number of other iwi, never signed a treaty, in any version, in either language. So they definitely never ceded sovereignty by treaty.
