I'm divided on this, bits seems to be the logical choice and I like it for the simplicity of it. On the other hand sats is a nice nod at satoshi's legacy, and other currencies also have different names between the whole and fraction units, it's not a strange thing to have.
Would make me smile in 100 years to see which one prevailed :)
If I were a betting man, I'd put my sats on sats ultimately being called bits. Maybe like 100 years out when none of this (or us) matter.
