Oh, interesting question!

New power plants are a hint that "AI" can consume a lot, but i guess there is more... as always, the humans are the limiting factor:
Bitcoin was in demand infinitely, because we have infinite greed. But it had a powerful limit, getting ever harder to generate, limiting its viability.

"AI" can also consume infinite power, but it needs to be fed prompts, some kind if input. Once we have it hooked up to every data source, outputting nice boring fantasy, is that all? Do we get a push to the people in general to feed it more, or maybe infinite loops of coprophagous "AI", generating the next fantasy based on the last ones output?
After all, nobody needs to actually read it, it just must be payed for to achieve its goal.

So maybe the limit is how much acceptance there is for money streams to be directed this way.

This leads me to the question: who can, in this day and age, put a stop to useless spending? Not the consumers, as far as we can see, right?
