we have a trillion dollar industry supported by single developers starting a project because of fun, gaining recognition, a challenge that are suddenly responsible for ensuring worldwide IT systems are secure and don't break.
You can't layer some detection tooling on top of that to make it better. Automated detection tools are only useful to catch known vulnerabilities and even there they fail miserably a lot of the time.
