TIL: In Tianocore EDK2, on some platforms, USB-C ports only work in one orientation. This is because you need driver support to tell the USB controller to flip the orientation of the port and reconnect.
I am appalled. And I thought you could plug the cable in any way you want because of a clever pin layout. Instead, it's all software. Always has been.
