So which would you prefer: to be: European or American?
Americans work longer hours, but are richer (well at least some are);
Europeans work less, earn less, but live longer, are happier & mostly in better health
The Right claim working shorter hours & retiring early is not sustainable, but if Public Debt/GDP is your metric then the US performs worse.
Certainly Americans can buy more stuff, but this increases their environmental impact...
