This is my mother with her grandfather, sometime around 1928. And again, at age 95 and 96. She is now 97, almost 98, and fading quickly.

It's been a tough and very sad day here. My sisters and I haven't told her yet, but my mother entered hospice care today. Among other things, this means she will be getting one medical visit, three practical care visits, and an occasional visit from a rabbi... in addition to her regular care in Assisted Living. More importantly, it means we all are preparing to say goodbye, with no certain time-frame in mind.
