I read this as a QA fear. They can laugh off glue on pizza. Having a flagship product spout equivalent nonsense on political personalities would get a lot more notice.
But maybe I am old fashioned and expect software to work before you release it.
(I have zero idea the internal dynamics there, so my speculation may be far off base)
