It sounds sus but it is just a graded hill in a rail yard that has been in use since the days of automatic couplers.
Switchers push cars to the top, close the angle cocks and uncouple them to roll down into the classification tracks. Saves a bunch of time, but is a bit too violent for some cars/commodities.
