Great thoughts from
HODL (npub1rtl…jtfs)
I typically vote democrat (although not sure how I’ll vote for anyone going forward if I’m honest). I also live in Massachusetts, which was a heavy lockdown, mask, and vax state. Many progressives and democrats have come around to the reality that the gov’t went a little too far, vax weren’t really needed for most healthy people, and lockdowns were pretty intense and unwarranted. But in this political game, society has a short-term memory and both parties prefer that when it’s convenient for them.
I don’t think you’ll ever get a “yeah we were wrong” from them. And my biggest frustration is how democrats, who should be staunchly against the power and wealth of pharmaceutical companies, were just intent on shoveling money and authority to them at the drop of a hat.
Some say they will never forgive those on the wrong side of history during Covid.
I understand the feeling, but disagree.
Forgiveness should never be off the table.
That said… I need to see much more acknowledgment both individually and collectively before I can consider an apology valid.
Mainly people just go silent when you bring up their atrocious behavior.
They don’t want face what their own cowardice and fear lead them to.
They aren’t ready to admit how wrong they were.
I doubt they ever will be.
