I agree that it would be an enhancement, but imo a negative one.
Implementing DRM for podcasting in exchange for optional payments seems like a Faustian bargain to me.
The beautiful thing about all of this is that there are no rules and anyone is free to try any model they wish.
I will never charge for my content or apply DRM to it. I never will take on traditional advertising, I'll likely never receive a meaningful amount of money.
