Do we need to be talking that much about them though? "Zionism" is such a heavily loaded down word, and clearly has had different meanings to everyone using it for decades now.

I know changing language because people are mudding the debate with it isn't something we should normally do, but I feel like that particular word has been a problem since the beginning here.

I'm saying this is a person who, the first time I had a full adult conversation about "Zionism" with someone was the same conversation that they told me that the Palestinians were subhuman, and that Israelis had been commanded by God to kill them, and that allowing them to live should be held up as an example of mercy and compassion.

...but that's not what it means to a lot of Jewish people, and especially not to Israelis.

Meanwhile, the current situation is not the result of Zionism in general, but a specific administration of a specific government. Why not just say "Netanyahu" instead?
