For those who don't know, John is a cognitive scientist at the forefront of the study of wisdom, mysticism and transcendent experience.
If this happens, it could greatly improve our chances of net getting annihilated by a paperclip maximiser. It could also mean the development of "Silicon Sages" that can help humanity gain the collective wisdom needed to solve some of our biggest civilizational problems.
