🇬🇧 The biggest contradiction that new users of the fediverse, specifically Mastodon, do not understand, and are constantly misled by, is the claim that the decentralized nature allows for greater control over one's own data and privacy compared to a centralized network. This is some strange inconsistency that I don't comprehend; perhaps someone can explain to me how this statement relates to the fact that posts published by me with a lifespan of 2 weeks have been flying on other instances for six months... and even on Misskey, I see everything and probably everything is being indexed (which I did not allow, because indexing is blocked on my instance). Therefore, wherever possible, it should be explained to the new user what they are agreeing to and what the nature of ActivityPub is. I bet that this is another element behind a very high degree of abandonment of this network...

The question I am tentatively asking myself is: should I selectively federate with servers that meet standards and comply with my rules?

🇵🇱 Największą sprzecznością, której nie rozumieją nowi użytkownicy fediversuma a konkretniej mastodona, i czym są wprowadzani non stop w błąd jest teza, że zdecentralizowany charakter pozwala na większą kontrolę nad własnymi danymi i prywatnością w porównaniu do zcentralizowanej sieci. To jakaś dziwna sprzeczność jakiej nie pojmuję, może ktoś mi to wyjaśni jak to stwierdzenie ma się do faktu, że opublikowane przeze mnie posty z czasem życia 2 tygodnie latają na innych instancjach od pół roku... a nawet widzę na misskey, że jest wszystko i prawdopodobnie wszystko jest indeksowane (na co nie pozwalałem, bo na mojej instancji indeksowanie jest zablokowane). Zatem wszędzie gdzie tylko można należałoby wyjaśnić nowemu użytkownikowi na co się godzi i jaka jest natura activitypub. Obstawiam, że to kolejny element stojący za bardzo dużym stopniem porzuceń tej sieci...
