Ah, well that explains it. As I mentioned above, you have to create your new nsec in Ditto for following to be immediately supported. This is a known limitation and it's to protect you from overwriting your existing follow list in case we don't have those events :)
I highly recommend creating new accounts through the "Generate Key" flow for the best experience! š
